Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.
The most interesting game of round 4 in the LNB was only three-point a home defeat of 6th ranked Leones (2-2) to third ranked Metros (3-1) 122-119. Metros looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists. 24 personal fouls committed by Leones helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of Juan Guerrero (203-1993) who helped to win the game recording 39 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds and Jhery Matos (196-1996, college: Charlotte) who added 32 points and 7 assists during the contest. At the losing side American swingman Trahson Burrell (201-1992, college: Memphis) responded with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Metros have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place. Leones at the other side dropped to the fifth position with two games lost. Metros are looking forward to face Indios (#6) in San Francisco in the next round. Leones will play at home against Titanes and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Very important is a road loss of second ranked Marineros (3-2) against fourth ranked Titanes (3-2) on Saturday night. Visiting Marineros were defeated by Titanes in a tough game in San Cristobal 98-104. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Marineros. The winners were led by American swingman Brandon Spearman (191-1991, college: Hawaii, agency: BIG) who scored that evening 30 points and 6 rebounds and Richard Bautista supported him with 21 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists. Even 22 points and 9 rebounds by American forward Sydney Curry (203-2000, college: GCU, agency: JCK Sports Group) did not help to save the game for Marineros. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending champion moved-up to third place, which they share with defeated Marineros. Titanes will play against Leones (#5) in Santo Domingo in the next round. Marineros will play at home against the league's leader Caneros and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Bottom-ranked Reales (0-4) is still winless. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their fourth consecutive match to sixth ranked Leones (2-2) 109-97 on Saturday evening. Trahson Burrell fired 26 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Leones' coach Eulis Baez used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Walter Lemon Jr produced 17 points and 9 assists for lost side. Leones moved-up to fifth place. Loser Reales still closes the standings with four games lost. Leones will meet at home higher ranked Titanes (#3) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. In the last game of round 4 Caneros destroyed Soles on the opponent's court 88-64.
